Hi ItsMe80

read data timeout as soon as you save the global configuration? This sounds like some access issue to the database of OpenSim to me.

If this database is on a different server than jOpenSim, you need to ensure that the MySQL port is accessible by jOpenSim and that a user with the host of the jOpenSim server is existing there. Hope this helps

yes I think so too because its only when I want to go to the opensim module.

I know the listner port is for sure 9000 , what port would be the databae be normaly ?

And how can I open it ?

MySQL is by default on port 3306. How to open it depends very much on your server OS and its configuration.

yes its a database connection issue , when I set 3306 at database port it does not give the 500 error anymore , but I do get :

Can't connect to MySQL server on 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' (111)

Now this message is indicating that port 3306 of the server where OpenSim is located is not accessible by the server where jOpenSim is located.

Remember that for security reasons it is not a good idea to open this port for outside generally to public. Best is to add a custom rule to the firewall so only the host of the webserver with jOpenSim can access it.

Since I only run Linux OpenSuSE on my servers, I only could tell how this is done there, but if you let us know, what server OS you're running, maybe someone else can provide you with some info how to solve this.

A small note on the side: I'm working currently intensely on a new version of jOpenSim which will be compatible with Joomla 3.4.x+ and expect to provide a beta version within the next 2 to 4 weeks :)
